90 day non O visa based on retierment in Vientianne?

Featured Replies

I have heard that it is posssible to get a 90 day Non O visa for the purpose of retirement in Vientianne.

I can document and prove the financial requirements of:

  • A monthly pension of 56,000 Baht equivalent or an annual pension income of about 650,000 baht (dpending on the exchange rate at that point)
  • A Thai bank account of 250,000 Baht seasoned for more than 90 days.

I would like to then apply for a retirement extension in Thailand by using the combination method using those financials.

My specific question is, will those financials be enough to get me a 90 day Non O visa for retirement at Vientianne or Savannakhet as an alternative if not Vientianne?

I do not need a one year multi entry visa ... 90 days will be fine.

I just want to know if i have a reasonable chance of getting the 90 day Non O visa in Laos.

Vientianne would be preferred.

Vientiane will do the non-o if you have a total of 800k baht. You will need a letter from the embassy and your bank book showing the amount needed above your annual income the money just needs to be in the bank their is no seasoning requirement.

Savannakhet is not recommended because they are reluctant to do them and have asked for both an income letter and 800k in the bank.

Ubonjoe,

A friend was told by the Thai Embassy in Vietnam last week that he had to go back the UK to get the NON O as it wasn't possible to GET it there or in the region? New rules they told him????

So if he shows them 800k in a bank account(which kind of account, saving I persume?) at The Thai Embassy in Vientiane, Laos, he should be able to get one (according to the above in bold) and then get the extension of stay at CW before the 90 day expires.

Thanks for your time as always,

JJP

There are no new rules for getting a non-o for being 50 or over for retirement. Just a new policy at the embassy or consulate in Vietnam.

Vientiane still does them. I have seen no reports saying differently.

The 800k baht needs to be in a Thai bank account.

Apply for the extension during the last 45 days of his entry as long as the money has been in the bank for 60 days at CW.

If he is in Bangkok he can apply for a 90 day non immigrant visa entry at CW if he has at least 15 days remaining on his current entry.. He would need a letter from the bank confirming the 800k baht and one confirming the funds came from abroad. It will take 2 trips to immigration to get the visa/entry stamps 15 days apart.
