Non B and permit expire before job ends

Featured Replies

Hi

So my Non-B visa and work permit both expire next week but i wont be finished work then, also once i finish i wont be continuing at my school, i have no other job lined up yet.

I was going to just go to Laos and apply for a tourist visa whilst im looking for work.

The company im using for the visa run goes a few days before or after my visa expires. Is it ok to apply for a tourist visa a few days before my work permit and non b visa expires?

Thanks in advance

Leaving the country will cancel your extension of stay (it is not a visa) unless you have a valid re-entry permit.

If you will be leaving the country at Nong Khai you will need a letter from your employer stating you are no longer working to cancel your extension or they will not let you leave the country.

Ok thank you so if i just get a letter from my school to say ive finished work, then i can apply for a tourist visa

You don't need the letter to apply for the visa. You need it at Nong Khai immigration or they will not let you leave the country.

Will a copy of my contract do? But it is until 28th February i will be leaving a few days before that

A letter from your employer would be best. You can try with the contract.
