As for a work permit and a 1-year extension to my 3-month Non-B visa

Featured Replies

Hello!

I'm going to apply for a work permit and then extend my 3-month Non-B visa for 1 year

very soon. I'd love to ask you a few questions about them now.

1. How much does a work permit cost you?

2. What documents do you need to make the 1-year extension? Are they the same

documents as I needed to apply for my 3-month Non-B visa or a work permit?

Thank you.

1. The fee for a work permit is 3000 baht plus a 100 baht filing fee.

2. Your school should be aware of what is needed for the extension. Clauses 2.6 and 2.7 of Immigration Bureau Order 138/2557 lists the documents required but the local immigration office may have additional requirements.

Hello Joe!

Thank you for your info as always!

Neither the director nor the secretary of my school remembers what exactly I need to apply

for them. Neither of them can speak English. They'll always tell me to go ask the other foreign

teacher that got everything done several months ago. However, this guy doesn't even remember

exactly what he needed for them or how much he had to paid for them. He'll never ever provide

me with any correct info on them, so I've been frustrated for a few months now. He finished university

at the age of 20 and came straight to Thailand to start teaching, without even working back home.

He got kicked out of the first school at a nearby town and moved to our school last year. Now I've

realised the reason. And his TOEIC score is as low as 600's. How could he teach English with this score?

Thank you again for your time. Sorry for my grumble...
