BANGKOK: -- Five police officers of Sawankalok police station in Sukhothai province were transferred and faced disciplinary action after soldiers raided a house and arrested nine people they said operating underground lottery business in the district.

Mother begs for public support for ailing 7-month daughter

BANGKOK: -- A 30-year-old mother in Angthong Wednesday begged for public support for her seven-month-old daughter who needs urgent liver transplant. Ubol Singchada said she could not afford for the liver transplant for the girl who is suffering from liver cirrhosis.


She said doctors told her that the transplant could be done only at the Siriraj Hospital or Ramathibodi Hospital.

Six workers injured on Rayong building site

RANONG: -- Six Cambodian workers were injured - three of them seriously - when the cables holding an elevator in which they were moving materials snapped and crashed more than three metres to the ground at a building under construction building in Rayong's Muang district on Tuesday evening.

Police went to the three-building condominium project site in tambon Cherng Noen after the accident, which occurred at 5.30pm. The five men and one woman, who was four months pregnant, were rushed to a hospital. Police are investigating the cause of accident.

Prayut says all of his cabinet members have satisfactory performance

BANGKOK: -- Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said Wednesday that he is happy with the performance of all of his Cabinet members after his government has been in office for six months.


He said all ministers have been working hard so he sees no need to change his Cabinet line-up for now.

Sharp increase in Chinese tourists anticipated

French kite surfers hit high rise building on Jomthien beach
