Ex-PM Yingtluck in meeting with lawyers before her scheduled indictment Thursday

BANGKOK: -- Former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra was reported to be huddled in a private meeting with her lawyers and key Pheu Thai party executives about her scheduled indictment tomorrow by the Office of the Attorney-General in connection with the rice pledging scheme.

Mother begs for public support for ailing 7-month daughter

BANGKOK: -- A 30-year-old mother in Angthong Wednesday begged for public support for her seven-month-old daughter who needs urgent liver transplant. Ubol Singchada said she could not afford for the liver transplant for the girl who is suffering from liver cirrhosis.


She said doctors told her that the transplant could be done only at the Siriraj Hospital or Ramathibodi Hospital.

Six workers injured on Rayong building site

RANONG: -- Six Cambodian workers were injured - three of them seriously - when the cables holding an elevator in which they were moving materials snapped and crashed more than three metres to the ground at a building under construction building in Rayong's Muang district on Tuesday evening.

Police went to the three-building condominium project site in tambon Cherng Noen after the accident, which occurred at 5.30pm. The five men and one woman, who was four months pregnant, were rushed to a hospital. Police are investigating the cause of accident.

BANGKOK: -- Three Thai beaches are featured in TripAdvisor's top 10 list for Asia, with Phuket's Nai Harn beach taking the third spot.

Travellers' Choice award-winning beaches were determined based on the quantity and quality of traveller reviews and ratings for beaches on TripAdvisor gathered over a 12-month period.

Prayut says all of his cabinet members have satisfactory performance

BANGKOK: -- Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said Wednesday that he is happy with the performance of all of his Cabinet members after his government has been in office for six months.


He said all ministers have been working hard so he sees no need to change his Cabinet line-up for now.

Police to probe whether Yingluck really needs an official bodyguard

BANGKOK: -- The National Police Chief has instructed the Special Branch Police Bureau (SBPB) to review whether it is appropriate to provide security personnel for former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra, Royal Thai Police spokesman Pol Lt-General Prawut Thawornsiri said Wednesday.
