Not doing 90 day report because I am leaving shortly after

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have and Ed visa which expires on 14 March and the next date for my 90 day report is 3 March. I am however planning to leave the country around 7 March and go to Vietnam for a few weeks and then come back on a normal tourist visa. On the 90 day report paper which is attached to my passport it states that I can do 90 day reporting up to 7 days after the specified date of the next report (i.e. 3 March).

So my question is, if I am leaving the country on 7 March, is it worth it in even bothering to go and do the 90 day reporting? Can it cause me issues when I am leaving the country or can it cause me issues when I apply for a new tourist visa in Vietnam?

Thanks

Jerrie

If you ever return for more than 90 days and have to make a report it will be found and you will be subject to current fine (which is 2,000 baht now). The up to 7 days after is only allowed if you actually report.

Thanks for the feedback. Think I will go and do it then just to be on the safe side, as I am coming back on the tourist visa so I can apply for work permit - and I definitely don't want any hassles with that :)
