Credit card debts in Thailand

Featured Replies

Is there any free legal advise or help in Thailand for This sort of thing this is not for me but for a Thai person

No. The short story is that the person is in the hook forever. Best thing to do is to find low cost refinancing, from family. Paying the debt off will immediately free the person to start paying principle instead of only paying debt.

The cc companies will literslly fight to kerp the card open snd the debt on thr books.

No, the short story is actually that the statute of limitations for credit card debt is 2 years. After that period of non-payment the banks lose the right to sue the debtor and the debtor is then free of the debt unless the debtor makes any kind of payment off the debt in which case the 2 year period starts again.

The credit card companies certainly will not fight the debtor literally, that would be assault.

mmmm its actually 7 years. I racked up about 80k of credit card debts, now they cant touch me, they do pester a lot for the 7 years though.
