Car key (remote, immobilizer) replacement in Pattaya

Featured Replies

Lost my remote car key for Mazda 2 (def. not stolen).

Now I am driving on the spare key (no remote operation, original from Mazda).

I also have a metal label with a "key number".

Mazda here quoted me 6400 Baht to get me new keys (seems like both replaced).

Next week I am in Pattaya with the car.

Is there a specialized service that can do it cheaper in the area?

Any experiences?

Also a copy of the non remote key would be good for me.

Just want a backup for the safe.

The job involves some electronic/programming operation, so I am not looking for a simple "key cutter".

(I already have a mechanical copy that opens the door, but car won't start. Was a 180 Baht attempt tongue.png )

There's a car key/fob replacement kiosk inside Big C in Udon Thani and he has the laptop and software to program newly cut 'chipped' keys as working replacements. May be worth asking at similar booths at the regular malls around Pattaya?

I thought that you could copy a remote key while you still have it, but if you lose it then the locking system needs to be reprogrammed to suit the new key.

I may be wrong.

But he doesn't have the remote.

Indeed. That was my point.

Without the original I think you have to reprogramme the locking system for a new key.

Seems to be the expensive point.

Thanks for the hints!

Two more days to search the very last corner of the house and plot blink.png

Well, you could try Boy Air & Sound along Sukhumvit in Banglamung.

Drive Sukhumvit Northbound, pass the traffic lights near FN Factory Outlet and take the next U-turn; immediately move to the left lane. Approx. 100 meter before the PTT gas station you'll find them.
