Almost got my Visa just wondering what else is needed

Featured Replies

Hi ive been with my Isaan wife for 5 years and we have 2 kids .. ( im 29years old )

i own alot of property up here in Udon Thani and i have my own house book with thai bank account
and i also speak read and write fluent Isaan and Thai .. (mostly Isaan) ..
im just bout to open up a Tattoo Studio in between Kumpawhapi and Udon ..

ive heard from other foreigners that they have to have 400 000 to 800 000 baht in their account every year ..

just wondering what else is properly needed for the one year visa ??

not sure if this is gonna help in any way but my Grandmother ( my mothers side) originally comes from Laos ..
hence why i could speak Isaan hell of alot easier than thai ..

Thanks

Yandel..

You are looking for a one-year extension of stay based on living in Thailand with your Thai wife, I believe. The financial requirement for this extension, called the marriage extension, for short, is 400,000 Baht in a Thai bank account or a monthly income, from within or outside Thailand, of 40,000 Baht.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

If you cannot meet the financial requirements for the one year extension of stay you can a multiple entry non-o visa in Savannakhet with no financial proof.

Are you intending to work in the Tattoo Studio?

If so you need to ask about work permits etc.

I found out today that I can possibly get my laos citizenship due to my grandmother being from laos and that I can most prob can stay in Thailand without a visa if I can get a laos birth certificate and passport and my name on my grandmothers village book ..

The tattoo shop I own with my business partner who is thai .. The immigration have already said yes I can work

So I guess next step is too try and become a Laos citizen

Even if Lao citizen you will need a visa or extension to legally stay in Thailand.

Not sure how you did stay until now, but that's not my business either.

ive always done the right thing .. every 90 days go see my family in Laos and come back ..

i think the hardest part is keeping that 400,000 baht coming in and out of my account as im always

buying land, houses and traveling world with my tattoo career ..

Theres a Laos lady in our village here i will ask her what her deal is with visas and staying .. im pretty sure for her

to stay she had to marry a thai man
