I am a Yankee Doodle Dandy ! My father was a Protestant Irish-Scottish Descent from North Carolina and

my Mom was a Polish Catholic Girl from Brooklyn , NY. I grew up in a Brooklyn Neighborhood of many nationalities and we Partied along with everyone of the Parades each Nationality held !

But, you forgot Van Morrison and Christy Moore in your list - who are Irish and have written some good songs.
