Agree Dan: Can you understand why i avoid the majority of foreigners here both tourists and expats. Pattaya and the other tourist slums seem to be a magnet for these people both men and women. Just imagine how many go unreported. Wonder how many more today will add to that list.

......With all the kook, GF problems, money problems, alcohol related problems, mental disorders, its no wonder why Thailand has

become a trauma center of the world for tourism.......an elephant ride before you slice your wrists?

Tourist Slum, Pattaya! you have your priorities pointing in the wrong direction matey pie, Last month the LPGA Honda classic was played at Siam Country club. There is an annual ATP tennis tournament here. A marathon, countless world class restaurants. All the world class golf courses below are between a 20-50 min drive.

The New cartoon network water park.

There are many people here who just read about all this mumbo jumbo and never experience it. Maybe Jungle Jim you are a loner and no one actually cares about you because you are a bad vibe. This is why you are leading the Robinson Cruso life style. There are alternatives living in Pattaya so if you choose to experience the underground side of it thats your problem it does not mean this is the only way you can exist in Pattaya. By far the countries best location for an expat by miles. It has everything any other destination has and more.

I am happy for you please stay there. I am sure you or a friend will be added to the next drama in Pattaya.
Don,t get me wrong i am happy they head for Pattaya. Just wish they would fence the place off. Nothing but constant drama. You can have hell on Earth .Anyone that has a few brain cells left avoids the place like the plague along with a number of other foreign slums. Have you little fantasy. Just don,t bitch tomorrow as your body falls from the 10th floor of Hotel Hell.
your joking right ?
......With all the kook, GF problems, money problems, alcohol related problems, mental disorders, its no wonder why Thailand has

become a trauma center of the world for tourism.......an elephant ride before you slice your wrists?

And for all the slagging that Thais take in these forums, one can only imagine (and be sympathetic with) the views they must hold of westerners.

If there wer eno westerners in Pattaya................ There more or less wouldn't be a Pattaya worth anything!

He's not joking he's telling the truth. Farangs basically discovered Pattaya and their money makes it what it is today. Take away the farang and you have nothing unless of course somebody else came along. But you can't change history I suggest you study some.

You'd think the people who constantly slag the place off and have been here over 10 years would know that.

There is a fence. It called the close TV button. You don't have to come here. You don't have to read Pattaya news but if you do at least you could be civil about the place and not constantly slag it off. What do you expect to happen. A mass exodus from Pattaya to Jim's home in the jungle. I'm sure you'll like that. There's a saying "If you don't have something nice to say don't say anything." You would do well to act in it. Don't let the door hit you in the face as you exit the Pattaya forum. Bye.

And on the subject of brain cells how many does it take to avoid a place and its forum that you hated so much?

Another farang with crystal ball attempting to forsee the future. How would you know that either I or my close circle of 10 friends out of the many thousands who live in Pattaya will become part of the next drama here. You really need to get a life and lay off the booze or whatever it is you may be smoking. I've heard tell that jungle juice and jungle weed don't mix well and lead to fits and extreme insanity. Be careful.

You forgot the Bangkok symphony orchestra is coming soon. Plus the Asian games water sports are a big thing here when its on. Then there's world firework championships every year. And I saw a sign he other day saying world arm wrestling championship in Jomtien I think soon. And that's just the tip of a very large itinerary of world events. Slum my backside. JJ hasn't a clue. He needs to climb down out of his tree and get out and about a bit more. Edited by Keesters

It amuses me that the haters spend far more time obsessing over incidents in Pattaya than those of us who live here. All of these threads follow a pattern and the haters cant help themselves - no amount of keystrokes will change this town, so why dont we just get on with our lives ?

While all of the above is definitely true, Pattaya is still universally associated with drugs, prostitutes, scamsters, mafia and many other kinds of vice. It will take a long time more to get rid of all these negatives

But not just Pattaya probably a lot of Thailand most certainly Phuket. And as for Bangkok what has that got going for it. Number one worst traffic jams. While Thailand is no 2 most likely to get killed on the road.

It is so easy to avoid all the negatives of Pattaya and enjoy all the positives. Thousands of Russians did before the rubel collapsed. Thousands of Chinese are enjoying it now. And Thai businesses are enjoying the profits they make from the tourists. One small bad element does not a bad city make.

@Keesters - nice wrapup but I think you forgot one very important group - Bangkok Thais who bought condos here as a weekend getaway from the madness back in the Big Mango.

You are so right. My apologies. Not sure the Bangkok Thais are going to be happy with their Pattaya property values soon. A massive fall is predicted due to over building. I witnessed the overbuilding in the 1990s and we all know what happened in 97. Could be similar except not affecting the currency this time.

I was self harming once because I was getting bullied, then I thought wait a minute, whose side are you on..

Self-Harm is often associated with depression and feelings of low self worth. People in considerable internal torment.

Hardly a subject to be made fun of. Certainly not helped by Video cameras and the inevitable "rubber neckers".

Bullying especially at schools is terrible. I can fully understand how traumatic it can be. One of my kids was being bullied. It was months before he told me so I could do something about it. Glad you realised self-harming was not the way to go. Many don't. Bullying is one of he major causes of teenage suicide. I've seen many short films about it. Terrible.
