Due to the huge headaches at immigration recently, I've decided to cancel my ED visa and switch to tourist visa for the next few months until leaving to visit home this summer. I'm planning a trip to Phnom Penh, but I recall there being some issues at that embassy. Has anyone been recently? Especially looking for anyone who's been with similar situation to me.

I'll be bringing my school resignation letter, as well as my itinerary for a trip out of Thailand two months from now. Think I'll be ok? Do I need to show proof of funds? Is a double entry possible?

All your feedback is helpful and much appreciated.

It will take up to 4 days to get the visa unless you use an agent.

No proof of funds needed, Mixed reports on needing a ticket out of the country recently to get the visa.

They only do single entry visas. If you want a 2 entry visa you need to go to Laos.

Does anyone know, if I arrive wednesday late morning/early afternoon to apply and show them my return flight is friday evening, will they take my passport without guaranteeing I'll get it back in time for my flight? I just really dont want to waste an extra day...

I was there jan this year. I used travel agent to get visa and no luck. I was told by travel agent i should apply personally. I did not bother to go and i took 30+30 option back to Thailand. I am flying tomorrow to vientiane to get double entry. If you have a lot of visahistory, phnom penh is not the best option. I had a lot but not all back to back and visited almost 2 months in europe also last year..

I have a lot over the years, but i've been on ED for last year and a half with one visa exempt in the middle. I guess I'm just hoping they'll let me know if I wont get it before they take my passport and money. If they say no at application time, I'm fine with the backup plan of 30+30. Really just dont want to waste time and money.
