Criminal Court's bomb attack prompts security step-up for high profile officials

BANGKOK, 10 March 2015 (NNT)-Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha has instructed government security units to keep crowded areas under surveillance following a confession of the Criminal Court bomber.

The Prime Minister is confident the government has the situation under control. He has also asked for public cooperation in reporting any unusual activities or suspicious individuals to authorities.

He believed the recent incident at the Criminal Court was aimed at creating public fear, citing a police report as saying the masterminds were plotting in Thailand’s neighboring nations.

Police Chief Police General Somyos Poompanmuang said those involved in the attack will be prosecuted indiscriminately. Higher levels of protection have also been provided for high profile figures and important places.

The Military Court has issued arrest warrants for 4 other suspects believed to have also engaged in the bomb attacks in Khon Kaen and Pathumthani provinces.

Ooooops.....now it is ..........masterminds were plotting in Thailand’s neighboring nations.

Can I repeat the same motto again?

No Thai would have done that........

You better leave the other countries out and look for the reds that are trying to destabilize the government.

security step-up for high profile officials

have to protect those high-profile officials, they are an endangered and rare species, after all. No need to step-up security for mass transport systems, supermarkets, or other places used by the common people, since masses are not rare at all and there is always more...

We are all under surveillance. If you have ever seen Citizenfour about the whistleblower Edward Snowden then you will already know what the governments of the world can do in watching your everymove. Well now its happening in Thailand with their own version of the mass surveillance gathering system.

Be careful what you post online, what you say on the phone and what you buy with your credit card, they're watching.

there are at least 13 arrest warrants out for bkk bombing suspects over the last month or so. the investigation involves surrounding countries.

a bunch of reds are out on bail pending appeal of their guilty verdicts.

the present admin is quite lenient at the present time.

?are they just waiting until the reds and the shin clan start killing people again???

Lenient?

After recent terrorist murders in Europe martial law was not declared.

After the 2001 attack in the US, which killed more people than the 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor that brought the US into World War II, martial was not declared.

Martial law had been in place in Thailand since May of last year. The junta must be elated about these small bombings that resulted in little damage and no injuries; after keeping martial law in place for many months they finally have a couple of minor attacks to justify it.
