Does anyone have full details of a competent Visa Agent in Siem Reap who can handle getting me a Single Entry Non O from The Thai Embassy in Phnom Penh.

I have walked around Siem Reap today in the blistering heat to 10 different 'Visa Agents'. 8 of them said Tourist Visa only now from PP, 1 said I need a ticket out of Thailand and my current lease and landlords details, in addition to my Passport and a copy of my bankbook showing 800k THB. The other agent said I need a letter from my Embassy ( British) stating i'm retired (i'm only 51) and my lease/landlords details. I only have with me my Passport and bankbook copy.

Any help would be really appreciated as i'm feeling a little frustrated ATM.

Do I need a ticket out of Thailand? Or Lease/Landlords details?

PP is well known for being a "difficult" embassy to secure any type of visa from.

I am not surprised you have experienced difficulty.

Lao or Penang would be better places to secure a "Non O" visa from.

On what basis are you wanting the visa?

Other consulates will require the same documents that PP is asking, but the OP doesn't have - one has to be prepared when going get a visa,

That is, age 50 or older, Thai bankbook with 800K, and/or Letter/affidavit from embassy stating monthly income higher than Bt 65,000. That is often a pension derived but it does't have to.

I was told in a previous thread from last week that all was required, was copy of bank passbook and passport. If I would have been told to bring anything else, I would have done so. As it is, I cannot get any additional docs. now.

You mentioned to have 800K in bank - which is fine, but you should have the bankbook in original as suggested.

The other problem is that you're in the wrong place where there is no consulate, if the agent route won't work you will have to go to PP to follow the matter personally - that is what I recommend.

Thanks Paz for linking to my previous post. It would appear you didn't read UbonJoes reply #4 which states in answer to a question I raised that a COPY would be all that is needed. I actually have my original with me, but don't plan on letting someone have my original bankbook and passport at the same time unless with me present. I have no issue to allowing them have a copy. So it would appear I was given incorrect advice in my original post, if what you and nzexpat are now stating.

What is done in these cases is that you apply in person, show the original of an important document, and provide a copy. That is what ubonjoe wrote in his first answer.

Just take your bank book with you to show the 800k baht in the bank.

...

Just your bank book and passport would be needed.
