CDC meeting to discuss issues raised by Prayut and NCPO
THE NATION

BANGKOK: -- CONSTITUTION Drafting Committee chairman Borwornsak Uwanno will call a CDC meeting to discuss 17 issues related to the charter draft that Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha and the National Council for Peace and Order have raised questions over.

The 17 issues are:

 How can the problem of large parties setting up nominee parties be solved?

 Should any problems arise by allowing senators to sponsor bills, or should senators be allowed to sponsor laws related to reform only?

 What are the benefits of allowing senators the power to screen Cabinet candidates or heads of state agencies, or should senators have the power to approve Cabinet appointments?

 What are the benefits of allowing permanent secretaries to take up caretaker posts during a Cabinet reshuffle?

 Will the charter draft prevent vote-buying allegations?

 The composition of MPs and the Senate must be reasonable.

 How can political office holders be swiftly punished for transgressions and can civil suits be taken against them for damage caused?

 How should a Cabinet that is unable to live up to public expectations be dealt with?

How can the Cabinet, MPs and senators check and balance one another?

 What are the powers and responsibilities of the National Ethics Assembly?

 How should an election campaign that propagates populist policies be handled?

 How will integration across ministries be achieved?

 What will be the safety arrangements for officials in charge of overseeing rallies and public gathering?

 Will ministry permanent secretaries have the potential to carry out caretaker Cabinet posts via a Cabinet reshuffle?

 How can projects that have brought about problems and damage be discontinued without having to wait for a court decision?

 When is it the right time for the public to participate in policy matters?

 How can political interference in bureaucracy be prevented?

Prayut works so hard!

But when you are a one-man government and cannot trust delegation of the suppression of Thai rights and liberties, it is almost inhuman for Prayut to make such a sacrafice of himself. Once he forces the new constitution onto Thai people against their, maybe he can rest. Then his clones can maintain the nation in a pemanent subservient society that is best for Thailand's oligarchy.

1. It is always the right for the public to be involved in policy matters.

2. A cabinet that does not live up to public expectations can be voted out by the public that voted them in.

The real questions from the General...

 How can I constitutionally enable a coup so that I don't have to call it a coup?

or aka,

 How can I maintain complete control and also create the illusion of giving sovereignty back to the people?

Repeatedly, PM General Prayuth has said he has "nothing to do" with the charter writing.... and repeatedly, right after the junta took power, the PM said that reconciliation was his goal, but this month he said he "did not need to reconcile with anyone". Some of us remember things we read last year, last decade... Now we have this article.

I am not being a dick, I promise. I take people at face value until they make contradictory statements.

I do not understand this. No amount of "attitude adjustment " can explain away this contradiction.

The rest of the entire world are asking the same questions, and this is not 'Thainess', I am talking about inconsistency.

Who does PM Prayuth work for? Is he a remote-control puppet as much as Yingy?

Maybe someone lied, and that is the only assumption I can make. Who was it?

I know it was not me.
