OLDAUSSIE
As the title says. If one is staying in Korat City, where is the nearest border crossing for a visa run? Many thanks for your help.
Jip99
Chong Chom is the nearest at 208 km, with Poipet 234 km away. Google offers almost identical timing. No doubt Chong Chom will be quicker as the dualing of the 24 gets completed. I hate Poipet but wife/GF may appreciate Rong Kluea market.

GPS 14.434846, 103.700101 is closer to Korat than Poipet and yes Chon Chom is a lot smaller than Poipet but you will have no problem getting to it either by private or public transportation. khwaibah
Side note. If you drive to Chong Chom there is parking, off street, to your left by the ATM's 50 baht. If you drive and want to take a taxi to SR there is secured parking on your right at 100 baht per day. Taxi from CC to SR is about 1500 baht, aircon, 2 hours, black top road. Or you can drive your car/truck/bike from CC to SR.

SinCityGr8One
When crossing into Cambodia at Chong Chom, try your Luck at the Osmach Casino. The Missus and I always walk out with more money than we walked in with. They accept USD and Thai Baht, NOT Cambo Currency. Perhaps, "Lady Luck" is just with us and She prevents the "House" from always winning. Anyhow, it's a decent border crossing to use. Never had any hassles there. Chok Dee!
