PHUKET: -- A man was arrested on Monday when officials carrying out a sweep near Tonsai Waterfall, Thalang, when he was found to be in possession of methamphetamine pills, a gun and ammunition.

Officials led by Thalang District Chief Veera Kerdsirimongkol arrested Narakorn Saisod, 25, after they stopped him and found two meth pills in a bag he was carrying.

They escorted him to his home in Moo 1, where they conducted a search, finding seven more pills, along with a homemade “Tai pradit” handgun and three shotgun shells.

He was taken to Thalang police station where he was booked for possession of a Category 1 drug with intent to sell and illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
