Parental right - Non imm Visa

Featured Replies

I've just got my parental right document (joint) by a thai court.

Does anyone knows if with this document I can apply for any kind of extension of stay here in Bangkok or I need to go in a Thai consulate abroad?

I believe I have to go abroad but some people telling me otherwise and I can't get a solid answer.

I'm currently on a 30 days visa entry stamp.

Thanks

You can convert to non-imm visa in Bangkok, but it may require two visits. Cost Bt 2,000 plus 1,900 for a 30 days extension, needed when you have less than 15 days remaining permitted stay.

For this reason many people find more convenient to go get a visa in a nearby country. You can find countless reports about that.

Is then possible to get an non-imm O visa multy-entry type or they will only give me a single entry one?

Thanks

You can apply for a one year extension of stay based upon being the parent of a Thai. You will need 400k baht in a Thai bank or 40k baht income.

You will need to get a non-o visa to apply for the extension.

You could possibly get a multiple entry non-o visa in Savannakhet Laos but you need your family with you when you apply to demonstrate you are living together as a family (de facto marriage).
