torrow Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Hi, Cameron Highlands in Malaysia - has anyone done it from Penang? Looking for bus info and places to go.
cheynewalk Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 All the guesthouses around georgetown (chulia st/love lane) sell the minivan tickets to the cameron highlands.
phuketrichard Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Yes, but i drove in my own car, the highlands is VERY disappointing, extremely overbuilt an touristy an do not even try and go on the weekends or a holiday. If u can try an sit in one of the tea plantation restaurants that overlook the fields but do it before 10:30 as than they fill up with tour bus's Bee exhibts strawberry farms
CNXBKKMAN Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Just take the ferry over to Butterworth. Walk into the bus station and get the next bus to Tapah. Buses run up to the Cameron Highlands from Tapah which is at the bottom of the mountain or you can take a taxi. I wouldn't say Cameron Highlands is disappointing. You do need to walk on the trails to the tea plantation and stuff. Its ok for a couple of nights and the weather is pleasant. Keep an eye out for Jim Thompson when you hiking on the trails. 1
