First thing I do is look for a country that has had a military coup and is still under the grip of the coup leader. Then I check to make sure there are plenty of foreigners jumping off balconies and kids getting murdered at beach resorts. Then I make sure there's martial law so my travel insurance is invalid. A quick scan to make sure I'll get striped up by taxi drivers and that there is a firm double-pricing policy already in place. Providing all that shapes up I then make sure I can go to the beach where I cannot take my own sunbed and parasol to protect my skin and that I cannot take a shower from a non-existent beach bar. Providing everything meets the criteria I then go to a totally different country and stay in a nice hotel on the beach - maybe Ponte Negra, Natal, in Brasil - then I go and enjoy the reasonably priced fun to be had there!

They tell me Libya, Yemen, Tunisia and Egypt are nice this time of year.

Excellent sea food and nice summer breezes, no ladyboy pickpockets, rip off jet skis or double pricing.

Best consult 1600 Pennsylvania Ave before booking your next tour, who knows what bargains await.

WAISTE OF MONEY

going somewhere in a small room, for 5000 baht a night

with bad breadfast and overpriced lunch & dinner ?

for the stinking sea ?

for the pool, same as you have in your moo baan ?

for the enjoyment of taking an overpriced taxi ?

Say what ? blink.png

Think he must be a TEFLr or digital nomad, takings in the grindhouse are down these days.

Best stay home in the scuzzy On Nut apt and live on Mama noodles, we dont need no stinkin aircon.

Was that Canarysun posting under another nom de plume?

Cheaper hotels so I can have more money to spend on luxuries. Mainly beer and bar fines.

I don't even book anymore I just turn up in bkk and choose one of the ones I've liked previous.

At immigration they always ask you where you are staying. I never know what to stay so I just state an area or a hotel I'm familiar with.
