I have been shifting some time now with out the use of the clutch on my Kawasaki ER6F.

My method has been to preload the gear shift then off-on the throttle ... worked quite well ... in the beginning

I have begun to notice that the 4th to 5th upshift is less certain of engaging properly. It feels kinda like the gear is half engaged, feels kinda like the chain is slipping a few teeth on the sprocket ... for what that is worth. Then I shift up again and the engagement into 5th is fine.

As of late it seems that the 4 - 5 upshift is also getting sticky as well, that is I preload the shifter ... off-on the throttle and about 30% of the time it stays in 4th.

My question is then ... is this condition I am seeing probably brought on by a bent shifter fork?

Thus the solution would be to replace the shifter forks ... all of them ... just to be on the safe side ... no sense doing the same job again later for another gear.

Thx for any input

I shift both up and on my ER6's but never pre lode the shifter, just release the throttle a little bit.

It has worked well on one of them for 6 years now and still no problem.
