Ear, Nose, Throat (ENT) Doctor in Pattaya - Recommendations?

Recommended Posts

Looking for an ENT doctor, since I can't get rid of my clogged nose (only one side)

Tried everything possible, like Antihistamines, Yeti-pot, antibiotics, etc.

I guess it might be polyps.

I've found some old threads (4+ years), but some actual recommendation would be nice.

Darkside is ok, but I will also drive a few KM, if necessary.

Please NOT Bangkok-Pattaya Hospital (don't want to lose a leg and an arm)wink.png

thanks in advance

Dear Roban

I went through the same annoying thing for many years. Horrible at night, waking up every few minutes with dry mouth. Are you aware that regular nasal-spray MUST only be used occasionally and not longer than 7 days. Otherwise it actually causes chronic Rhinitis and it will only get worse. This o.c. only if it is not polyps or another condition.

After years of this I just got it resolved by a specialist here in Europe. I have been using AVAMYS / http://www.dokteronline.com/de/avamys/ for 4 weeks, follow instructions carefully, shake very well !!! for first time and well every-time before next uses. 2 blasts into each opening, sucking air in at the same time.

Do it 1 hr. before bedtime. This is a steroid and will start acting within a few days. First time in years I have a free nose and can breath properly. Furthermore we did daily / morning and afternoon flushes with sea-salt / warm water. A bit unpleasant first few times. You can get devices in big pharmacies. http://www.webmd.com/allergies/ss/slideshow-nasal-irrigation

I gradually reduced the Avamys (Different brands available, but might have to get in hospital or at least Faschino Ph.) and also the flushing and now use it only occasional when needed.

It did wonders and I can finally get much more rest at night.

BPH will hardly rip you off, for initial consultation, but you can always go to Sriracha Pyathai, which is sometimes a bit cheaper.

Best of luck. MS

I had this problem for many years but it turned out I had become allergic the nose drops which were supposed to help.

If you cannot find help in Pattaya : I can tell you I was helped by Dr Savitree Chaloryoo at Samitivej Srinakarin (East of Bangkok and so no need to enter the city)

"Please NOT Bangkok-Pattaya Hospital (don't want to lose a leg and an arm)"

555 - keep on suffering if you don't want to pay for real doctors, lol ....

right you are! somebody who thinks 750 Baht (BPH standard charge for a single consultation of any specialist) is equivalent to losing an arm and a leg can't be helped.

A few years ago I consulted the ENT clinic at BPH, and over a period of weeks saw three (four?) different doctors about chronic ear infections. Each one prescribed a different antibiotic course, and although I am highly critical of the over-prescription of antibiotics in Thailand, I duly completed each course, to no avail.

In desperation, I returned to my old ENT doctor at BNH in Bangkok (Dr. Pasakorn) and within five minutes he had correctly assessed the problem and offered me a DIY treatment if/when the problem recurred: Flush the ear canal with vinegar several times daily to raise the acidity of the ear canal environment. For whatever reason, the Ph balance in my ear canal was off and opportunistic infections weren't fended off by a normal acidic level.

The few times since then that I felt the initial blockage from an infection, the vinegar rinses have done the trick.

So, I've sworn off the ENT clinic at BNH. I endured not only the multiple antibiotic courses, but also ear infections (with blocked ears) needlessly for several weeks.

I don't want to visit BPH for some special reasons...the "arm and leg thing" was just a little bit of sanuk. (You noticed the smiley?)

However, I hardly doubt, that one can't find any "real doctors" outside BPH...

Especially those doctors, which work at BPH at daytime, but have also an own clinic somewhere in Pattaya.

Thanks anyway for your "comment", waiting for your recommendation...whistling.gif

Hi, where/what is BNH?

thanks.

Have you had an x-ray on your nose ?? My x-ray showed I had a Deviated Septum and tiny Polyps but not bad enough to be operated on yet. You can Google about the Deviated Septum.

I have bought a Nose Pump and special salts to mix with the water,, and it does relieve the blocked up feeling each day.

No, no X-ray and no CT, but maybe worth a try.

I have googled "Deviated Septum" and watched some images. Could be a plausible explanation, because there is only one side affected.

I have also bought a "plastic pump" to flush the nose with saltwater, but that's no real improvement.

However, I think consulting an competent ENT is no bad idea...

Off topic name and shame posts removed, the OP is looking for recommendations not over charging and horror stories.

Defamation is the issuance of a statement about another person or business which causes that person to suffer harm. It does not have to be false to be defamatory. Libel is when the defamatory statement is published either in a drawing, painting, cinematography, film, picture or letters made visible by any means, or any other recording instruments, recording picture or letters, or by broadcasting or spreading picture, or by propagation by any other means. Defamation is both a civil and criminal charge in Thailand.
