Obviously she's also maintaining that Thai smile.

What exactly does that mean?

You're being "cute" right?? It's smile number 11 of 13 (from the book "Thai smiles for all occasions" available from all good bookshops) biggrin.pngthumbsup.gifwai.gif

Thanks To Each Of You!

I'll Fill-In-A-Few-Blanks.

+ I've lived with her in BKK for about 180 days, over 5 visits.
+ She INSISTED on a marriage Pre-Nup agreement. She owns a BKK condo, gold and a big stock portfolio. She does not need or want what I have. Nor do I want what she has.
+ We met on-line. I was looking for a "Currency Exchange" person for my distribution business. She did not like me at first.
+ She has no interest in bringing any family to Maui.
+ Maui is NOT expensive. If you know how and where to live.

+ I did the "25 year old GF thing". Got tired of that. I don't want children.
+ Patricia does not have children.

My son had her work 15 hours in his business to help him and paid her the standard $13.50 an hour in cash. She is not going anywhere soon.

Best to each of you always!!

What part of Maui is NOT expensive unless youre living in a shack upcountry growing smoke?

Maui's probably in top 5 most beautiful places to live in US but incredibly boring. There is only so much golfing, surfing, sitting around on the beach one can do before ending it all.

Congratulations but let us know her thoughts 3-6mos from now.

I heard, sadly, that Moose Mcgillycuddy's restaurant on Kihei Road in Kihei closed. They have others, like Honolulu etc. and I hope they are open.

That's one of my favorite's anywhere and if it isn't closed now be sure to take her there for crab cakes. They are the best I've ever eaten and I never miss going there more than once when hanging out.

Have a good time. thumbsup.gif

So your son pays her under the table in cash at 13.50 an hour which of course is illegal...i don't think i would be posting that on the web or telling too many people about it.....i doubt that is permitted behavior under her visa.

My wife loves Hawaii, and we might move there after I retire. RIght now, she is in Las Vegas going to school while I travel back and forth. I wanted a no-income tax state with a good VA and military bases, and with house prices and such, we chose Las Vegas over San Antonio because of the higher number of Asians in Las Vegas. We have two wats within five minutes of the house, and there are several Thai stores.

But, while she likes it, she misses home. And having to do quite a few things on her own is wearing at her. Once she finishes school, if I am still here, she will probably come back.

Since you're 61 years-old, you probably don't have to worry. I had just turned 30, married a Japanese girl from a "upper-middle class" family in Japan. Took her to the states, (CA,) and had 3 adorable, wonderful, great kids. She met an older Japanese lady and after 16 years of marriage she decided she wanted to "sow her wild oats" again. She became American-ized in all the worst ways imaginable! With her lawyer's expertise, she ended-up with everything! - The kids, (they're all over 18 now but won't talk to me,) the house, the car, and all my money for the rest of my life! - Just sayin, would be different if I was starting out at 61 and she was 49. You probably won't have the same situation at all. Best Wishes to both of you smile.png

You turned her gay?

I don't see how this relates to a Thai woman moving to the US, but...good news. Starting out in LOS at 61, you get to upgrade. 49? That's older than my girl's mother and I'm older than you. whistling.gif

Regarding age differences, I met a man in Udon Thani, who was proud to say, that his mother in law was 40 years younger than him! laugh.png

Suggest renting Eddie Murphys video

Half

Prenup signed where?

I continue to walk to the wrong side of cars in Thailand, but also never drive there so, it's a habit only not a sign of poor cognitive mobility....getting the US girls to drive me around has been the benefit of the Thai girls driving me

OP,

Why are you posting all this?

Will you do the same, if she starts causing problems?

WOW!

The negative, "Thai Bashers" hopeful of another sad Falang story must not have much to do today in the gutter.

+ She signed a 1090.

+ She signed a W2.

+ She has applied for a Social Security Card.

+ She opened her own personal bank account at Bank of Hawaii on Thursday.

+ We were married on Wednesday, so she is a LEGAL USA resident.

+ My Attorney submitted the paperwork for her WORK PERMIT on Friday, and got a temporary number.

Please ... Ga Ruu Naaaaaaaa .... HOLD YOUR BREATH UNTIL I POST HOW BADLY THINGS ARE GOING !!!!!

This story is too boring. Too much happiness. I came back here to hear a story like this:

Gf lost it all on a bad trade, she now has me working 20 hour days, immigration calling us, USA sold Hawaii to puukao for $11, and I am in BKK on an overstay!!! Help!!!! And I found out she has 11 brothers, and they are downstairs!!! Help!!!

I do not like happy threads!!!!! haha. coffee1.gif

A cautionary tale indeed,

Nice to read your post OP. I'm about to go through it too...

My fiancee will be here in July (want her to come before July 4th so we can celebrate the most American of holidays). She lived and worked in NYC for 18 months a few years ago and she came to visit for a month last year. She also worked in Australia for a year. She currently teaches English at a university in Chiang Mai.

So given all of this, I think she knows exactly what she is getting into. She doesn't have a ton of friends in Thailand to miss, but I'm sure she'll miss her family. Skype should help a lot.

I feel pretty good she will have an easy time transitioning here. She wants to start working as soon as possible too.

She's 32 and I'm 44. Neither of has been married before and neither of us have kids. I'm praying it works out. I hope I can downshift from being a single man all my life. One thing I know for sure, getting dates here in the US is much more challenging that the glory days of having your pick of gorgeous Thai ladies when I lived in the LOS! Being a white guy here ain't so special.

Keep her away from American women who will happily discuss US divorce laws to her.

"Yes young lady, you can dump that old Hoale, and the court will give you half of everything he owns, and half of what he earns. Then you can find yourself a younger stud."

I'm keeping my wife in Thailand. But, enjoy while she's still ignorant and on the learning curve!

Yep, meet a strumpet while scratching around the underbelly of the farang-oriented bar areas, pay her a stipend, marry her, import her to your country then act surprised when all the old boilers who got there before her tell her how to work the system

Think Steve's got himself a good one - own money, own assets and all ring-fenced by a pre-nup.

Hope her comments about big, fat guys was just off-the-cuff or once the honeymoon is over, her eye could wander.

Good luck to you and your Lady,

I am 60, my Thai wife is 40, This is first marriage, We have been married 8 years and live in the UK, I heard all the horror story's, "don't let your Thai wife near other Thai women" , She will want to send money home , she will drain your bank balance. My wife has a good job in the UK , She has worked for the last 3 years, in that time she has bought Land and a house in Thailand, she has Gold, and a couple of Million baht in the bank, Even when she had nothing, she or her family never once ask for money, they where a poor family living from hand to mouth .I have never had any problems with her, a few disputes but that's marriage nothing serious. She has More Thai women Friend in the UK than Thailand, All good girls all married, and all trustworthy, you always get the negative side of Thai women but not the positive side, Again good luck to you and your lady.

Thanks Folks!

One Last Thing: She sometimes is a bit "defensive" of Thailand.

She'll say something like: "Well, Thailand has the same as that." (or) "Thailand's is better."

At first, I was arguing back some with her. And would say: "Are you Crazy? In Thailand it's horrible". (something like that)

Now ... I just nod and say "whatever".

You are trainabletongue.png

So you plan on retiring in Vegas or Hawaii? Vegas is not a bad place, from a cost of living perspective. Just dry and hot as heck in the summer. I would imagine Hawaii would be ideal to bring a Thai lady, with the weather, Asian flavor, and being somewhat closer to Thailand. But it's expensive and the income tax there are pretty high, if I recall. If you're looking for military facilities, Oahu is the only island that can provide. But boy, they've got tons and tons of military there.

Thank you for your message .... and all the messages.

YES. We will live on Maui. It is too cheap to live here compared to the Mainland USA.

I lived in Dallas, Texas for 35 years and am tired of paying property taxes, etc.

I have a HUGE 1-bedroom condo on the beach that I pay $1,000 a month, everything included.

Las Vegas is too hot.

Maui is 57% Asian.

White people are 7%

Patricia is very very comfortable here.

Maui Memorial Medical hospital is world-class -- but on the other side of the island.

If you need emergency help ... it's a 30-minute high-speed ambulance drive.

Oahu has excellent medical care and facilities.

Many high-end medical specialists retire from the military and stay on Oahu at the excellent hospitals.

I plan to take Patricia to Las Vegas when we get her travel documents.

Best wishes.
