Visa transfer

Featured Replies

Hi!

I just received my new passport from the Dutch embassy, but in my old passport I still have a valid Multiple Non O visa obtained from Savannakhet.

What do I need to do? Do I need to transfer this into my new passport?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Cheers!

Immigrations does not transfer visas. You have to use both the old and new passport. The new permission to stay, if you exit the country and then return to Thailand will be placed in the new passport when you pass through immigrations, but the actual visa will not be transferred to the new passport.

If you have an extension of stay, immigrations will transfer the information for the extension, information about your original visa that you used to enter and a re-entry permit if you have one, but not the actual visa. You need to take both passports, photocopies of information from both passports and the form shown here. You may need a letter from your embassy verifying that they issued the new passport to you.

In the OP's case he has a multi O. All he has to do is leave and return when 90 days are up. No other paper work is required.

He carries both passports until the visa expires.
