Can this explain Thai women attitude and morals?

A while ago, reading about Thailand's history and customs, something let me think about my experiences with most women here.

The reading was about the role of Thailand, and Thailand's women, hundreds of years ago. Siam, at that time, was just a "dormitory" land, where large caravans of traders and adventurers where passing by on the way to Europe. Prostitution in Siam was the main women's activity, and women with more prestige and respect where the ones having more clients and lovers than the others. That was the measure of women "value".

That Thai "tradition" may explain why so many Thai women appreciates more moneys and goods in a relationship, than love and companion, and why Thai women talks about its material "achievements" with lovers and husbands with so much pride, and not shame at all. And also, why its families may not feels bad about what its daughters do for living, and to help the family financially.

My wife is always commenting what other female friends tell about our marriage. For her friends, she is stupid in be married with a "poor" farang, and not using her young years an beauty in having many lovers, like most do. I know it is true, because we have a mid age divorced woman living next door, that it is very proud in showing off about the many Thai men, younger and older, single and married, that spend nights in its home periodically, and she is not good looking at all. She talks about that loudly and openly, showing that she is getting money from all them. She is not a poor woman, she is a business and property owner, just "selling" her favors, and very proud of it.

What that means?

Well....May be not a surprise if we see our lovely wife or girl friends leaving us just with memories, if we cannot keep supporting its financial demands...and after years of a loving relationship, just not to lose "face" with friends and family.

Cats and dogs are the same the world over.

Western men, not comprehending the true pain that love's mystical game can bring, think they've arrived in a paradise where they have a higher "status" or some such nonsense.

It's likely these western men (and I'm one of them) started to get the admiration in Asia which they thought they were entitled to, but denied, back home.

Of course it feels like cosmic justice has been served and the western man is now getting what he rightly and naturally deserves / needs.

The local lasses are only too happy to allow us to believe this fantasy whilst it suits them.

The truth is that your status in Asia is much the same (or lower) than back home.

What;s more; believing that all Thai women are simply prostitutes only perpetuates the handsum-man illusion and acts as a contrived stamp of approval on these sham-relationships.

If you really believe that all Thai women are prostitutes and your money will secure your happiness... then karma will kick your ass big time. The locals are surely laughing at you behind your back, watching the play of karma unfold, and even leading you to falsely believe money can secure happiness. What a joke.

The Asian women in so massively superior in the art of seduction that the hapless western men falls for it over and over. My only advice to you is listen to your gut feeling.

You think you found a good 'en? Like.... She's never even been in a bar, a virgin or only slept with one man, she has a proper job 15-25k per month, splits the bill even buys you stuff, wears cute cotton dresses, listens to western music (likes blond-eyed pop stars maybe) and dresses in farang fashion.... THESE ARE THE MOST DECEITFUL OF THEM ALL ! ---Some of the B500 short time girls are more honest than the "good girls" !!!

Judging from a lot that's posted on Thai Visa by clueless farang who apparently have never been away from home before, "fantasy" could be applied to much of it.

As a professional gardener I was constantly being instructed about horticulture by women, both customers and 'other'. I don't get looks of hatred here when I say 'I do this, I'll tell you and we can discuss it but it's my decision'.

The wife has her own autonomy, I may ask questions sometimes, but I rarely interfere.

Thai women are different, they do like clear structures, if you don't set boundaries then, as in any relationship, problems will occur. It's easier to set out the boundaries here than in the West, I find.

Thai women are horribly vain. Where that comes from I don't know. Perhaps when they can't make an impression using their wits, they fall back on looks. Even if they are ordinary.
