CharlieH
Japan & South Korea would be the closest options, I think.
dddave
According to a friend who has skied both Korea and Japan, Japan is far more developed but VERY expensive. He was not sure if true for all resorts in Japan but where he was near Sapporo, rental equipment was not easy to find, especially ski boots in larger sizes. JingerBen
Myanmar [burma]. Good slopes, they say... and the resorts will be coming soon. You can bet on it.
tx22cb
Myanmar [burma]. Good slopes, they say... and the resorts will be coming soon. You can bet on it. Careful there - Jeremy Clarkson got admonished for using that language.

theoldgit
We went to Yongpyong in South Korea a couple of years ago, very good and a lot cheaper than Japan, quite a few Thais there when we went. http://www.yongpyong.co.kr/eng/ski/overview.asp

balo
I believe the allmighty leader Kim in N-Korea opened up a new ski resort not so long time ago . It's called Masik Pass and is supposed to be a luxurious ski resort whatever that means. Should be fun. theguardian.com/world/2013/oct/07/north-korea-ski-resort-masik-pass Edited March 30, 2015 by balo
infinity11
Downhill SNOW skiing with lifts! Packed powder blue labeled slopes, the longer the runs the better, night skiing also offers more ski time (do they label them green blue and black outside the states?) Much research would need to be done, is April still snowy/cold enough, do they make their own snow as well? Thanks all. Anyone else actually go fairly recently? Details? dabhand
My son went on a skiing school trip to Muju in South Korea. That was in mid February so not sure what the conditions will be just now. He had a blast with good accommodation, plenty of snow and lifts. Night skiing also on offer. Equipment available for hire. No idea on price comparisons with other locations/resorts.
