oblivious Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 my GF wishes to take more than 10,000 bht of purchases and gifts back to Thailand from London. I understand there is a flat rate on personal items above this amount but below 80,000 but have no idea how much the rate is!!! Are there any guides on this or can someone offer some advice?
Axel Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 General information here: http://www.customs.go.th/Customs-Eng/Trave...?menuNme=Travel Passenger Declaration Form (Form No. 211) no longer exists, i.e. no form to be filled in. Unless your GF has proper invoices (and even than difficult) it will be a matter of talking and there might be a hugh disount if no receipt is required.

Ricardo Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 We recently paid 40% on a suitcase-full of Crunchy Nut Corn-Flakes, total 800 Baht with receipt, at Chiang Mai. I think the Customs man needed to be seen to be making some collections. I was still happy - he waved the other 7-hold-bags + 8 carry-ons (we were a family of 4), some 200 kgs, straight through ! TiT
