Seeing as this is the only Chelsea thread. Not too much support for them eh :o:D

From SkySports

William Gallas has denied Chelsea's claims that he threatened to score an own-goal, if he was selected by the club.

The former Caen and Marseille defender responded angrily to his former club's claims after the Stamford Bridge outfit issued a statement regarding Gallas on the club's official website on Monday evening.

The France international finally ended his spell with The Blues on Thursday's transfer deadline day, as he moved to London rivals Arsenal as part of a deal that saw left back Ashley Cole head to Stamford Bridge.

In a surprise move, which The Blues claim was to inform supporters regarding their reasons for selling Gallas to The Gunners, the Premiership champions claim he refused to play against Liverpool in last season's FA Cup semi-final.

They also state that the 29-year-old threatened to score an own goal, get sent off or make deliberate mistakes if Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho opted to select him.

Gallas, however, rejected Chelsea's claims and accused the West Londoners of having a lack of class and 'hiding behind false accusations'.

"I am surprised and shocked by these remarks," Gallas said. "I never said that I would score an own goal.

"I was very firm in my will to leave, that is clear, and I will explain at the appropriate time why.

"If people want to hide behind these eccentric charges to explain my departure instead of assuming their responsibilities in front of their supporters, then they can do.

"But I am not sure that it misleads many people. I spent five years at Chelsea. During those five years, I always gave my best and showed how much I was honoured to wear the shirt.

"All this is very, very petty on behalf of Chelsea. But at the same time, coming on behalf of its new leaders, that does not surprise me.

"Even if Chelsea has much money, its new leaders lack class."
