Thaivisa News Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Bangkok – The Paveena Hongsakul Foundation has filed a police complaint calling attention to the plight of a woman, 19, who has been raped for 12 years by the stepfather. The mother has been assisting in the rape of her biological daughter, the women’s and children’s rights advocacy foundation said. Acting on the advice of a neighbour, the victim asked the foundation to rescue her from her family. The foundation intervened and initiated the legal proceedings. Based on the victim’s statement, she said she was raised by her grandmother until she was 7. Her mother, who is employed by a food vendor and stepfather, who is a construction worker then took her into the family. She said her stepfather sexually violated her several times over the years. Her mother knew about the frequent rapes but did nothing, she said. She said she was forced to share the bed and mosquito net with her mother and stepfather. And her stepfather often had sex with the mother and daughter in the same night. She said she gave birth to a daughter when she was 12 after her stepfather made her pregnant. She said when she was 15, she had once had the opportunity to flee home and to work at a construction site. Her mother tracked her down and forced her to return home, saying her stepfather threatened to abandon her, she said. She said she did not know what to do because she would be severely beaten by her mother if and when she asked one of the neighbours for help. In December, she managed again to work in construction. This time she was raped and impregnated by a male worker before her mother forced her back home. Recently a new neighbour moved to nearby house and told her about the foundation. The victim is two-month pregnant. Khlong Luang police has detained the stepfather, 47, pending the completion of police report. The stepfather has admitted to raping the victim and that their 7-year-old daughter is under his charge. 1

Tywais, as you know I live in the sticks in Issan and my wife is a nurse. I hear stories like that every day from her. At the beginning I was appalled and disgusted. After so many years I've become immune and only pray that things will change one day and some decency will come upon these vermin. 12

EricBerg Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 It's easy to raise a child and make it develop empathy. Then later there is much less chance of the grown up to become a rapist or murderer or some other criminal. But for that there's the condition that one loves his/her child. How can any mom or dad do that to a child? Cage the animals! 1

Popular Post Goldieinkathu Posted April 3, 2015 Popular Post Posted April 3, 2015 I don't know which sickens me more, the actions of the stepfather or the lack of action by the mother. What the hell was she doing putting her child in harms way like that. I can not get my head around "having sex with the wife and the daughter in the same night" How could any mother do that. She should be punished as much as him in my opinion. 14
Popular Post Commerce Posted April 3, 2015 Popular Post Posted April 3, 2015 It does happen worldwide, and people do get away with it. I have had first hand experience, from years back when I got into a relationship with a lass from Coventry, UK. She was young, as I was then, but I started to realise things were not quite right within the family. Then she started to open up, and told me that her cousin of the same age (I was introduced to the cousin as a claimed cousin) was in fact the daughter of of her elder sister, and father was the dad. It then emerged that the next sister also had a child via dad, who I had also been told was a cousin. Later, the ex told me that dad would place his fingers in their pants after returning from school, and feel them, to make sure they had not had sex with anybody else! There were 5 sisters and 2 brothers - they would sleep in the wardrobe. The father made them physically fight in the garden - beat each other physically until one was down. Whilst doing that, he would rape any nearest daughter. He actually raped all 5 daughters, and 3 bore his children; and one daughter moved in with him from 16-22 years old, after he was ejected from the house by his sons when they became big enough to fight against him. This was live and ongoing during the 70s and 80s in the UK, in this household! When I heard such news I called the local CID from a safe location, and they came to visit me. They said there is nothing we can do until 1 member of the family makes a formal complaint. Of course, they were all shit scared - he was a big bloke, and would not stop at killing. Mother was a very weak character, but did say to me one day that she was waiting for him to get home from the pub one day, and hid behind the door with a knife. It happened that he came home with fish n chips that night for all the kids, and so she didn't carry through her plan. How did the CID follow up? They said he had been sectioned in the past and spent time in a psychiatric unit, and that he had been approved for release 2 years later. Upon his death, and the majority of the family danced upon his grave, a grandaughter announced a pregnancy. It was his child. If it doesn't get sicker than that, I do not know what does. He got away with it all until his death at aged 65, and in modern day UK! 4

Tywais, I take the events and brutality of what the poor soul had to go through and for so long as a huge sign of her inner strength and character to never give up and constantly try to seek help, even if she was beaten when she did try. Costas, a proper police force and law enforcement as well as caring neighbours would be a great start. You ahve to ask the question, why did the poor little girl not go directly to nearest police station or police box? or the neighbours when she went seeking help? Sadly the neigbours lack of help or taking action to help the girl is, in a way a poor reflection on thai society! 3

I appreciate your response. But not really a 'good' post, as opposed to an eye-opening one. It's a very sad situation that this still goes on, even in the so called Western developed nations, with their social services in action etc. I wasn't sure whether or not to post such, as it is deeply saddening, and yet it is truth and the evidence lives in DNA proof. I just received wonderful news today about my own recovery from a physical illness, and I feel great, emotional, and positive. However, referring back to the case I experienced, the mental damage can NEVER be undone. The daughters are really messed up psychologically, and thus so is the next generation, and the next. It also affected me, although in minor ways. I wish I could bring belated prosecution to the bastard father, but it is not within the realms of my remit, even though I (despite having little contact with the family, but do) read totally effed up characters in the family that will not seek help. Some even continue in the image of their father, and that is more frightening. The latter really is the scary part. At least this Thai girl has removed herself from the abuse, and spoken out. A great many do not - and that is the greater bleakness of what is real in many societies, especially Thai - and I say especially Thai because it is believed that 25% of Thai girls suffer sexual abuse in some way or other at home. My source for that is one of Thailand's top psychologists who I cannot name for obvious reasons, but am able to share in private messaging. Not that the latter needs much questioning. 6

Indeed. Speechless - other than to say "cut off his ba11s and hang them on the gate post". As for the mother?.... well I am genuinely speechless.

Most definitely, you'd like to think a mother would have protected the daughter especially when it started at a tender age.

Most definitely, you'd like to think a mother would have protected the daughter especially when it started at a tender age. That's exactly where fear and the break of co-dependency steps in. It also works two ways between the sexes. However, it is usually the male that smirks with power, and the female gives in, fearing all loss of self identity and placing emphasis on what good can come out of the situ. :'( 1
Popular Post EyesWideOpen Posted April 3, 2015 Popular Post Posted April 3, 2015 Seems mummy was willing to do anything to keep the stepfather and the daughter was just a pawn. yes and she is just as culpable. Worse.........The man is just a sicko, plenty of those in the world. But a mother, who is supposed to be genetically programed to protect her daughter, instead allows the stepdad to rape her, is basically lower than pond scum. She should face the same amount of jail time as the rapist.... 9

After so many years I've become immune and only pray that things will change one day and some decency will come upon these vermin. One of my wife's friend's is a nurse at the Sisaket hospital, at the birth section. It's quite frustrating to hear all the stories, more and more 12 and 13 year olds who give birth, after being raped by somebody from the family/ uncle, etc.. Would the "loss of face" and the fear of the corrupt cops wouldn't be the victims' enemies, I'm sure a lot more would go to the cops and things would change. But would a woman with her daughter file a complaint at a local police station, the rapist could easily get the story changed into something else, by paying some money. That's also the reason why almost everybody here does the "hit and run" after causing an accident. We're in the 21 st century and I'm very certain that all kids on this planet have to be protected. But the numbers your wife's telling you are just the top of the iceberg and it's frustrating to see it happen almost every day, while many people just look away. And those who look away are as guilty as those who actually commit the crime. Just reading the article almost made me throw up. 3
DM07 Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 I am waiting for some clear words from Mr. P or the Ministry for Culture and Moral on this one. Sure, who is strongly against Miniskirts on TV or underboob -selfies, must be outraged by this! Anytime now, folks! ...I will not hold my breath, though! Just shocking....and : I know, it doesn't only happen in Thailand, so ...shut up!
reenatinnakor Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 That is sick. The death penalty is not good enough for these perpetrators. They need to invent something more worse than the death penalty. Maybe their parents if still alive also get the death penalty too, that might make them think twice about doing these grotesque things. 1

Let her suffer all her life long. And I mean really suffer. Wouldn't have been possible without mom's help. That mom was in the same bed when the bastard did it, seems to be so strange that I don't know what to say. Hope her Karma will get her. 2
