Norwegian kills friend then shoots himself in the face during darts game

CHA AM:- A 59 year old Norwegian male shot dead his 55 year old friend, a fellow Norwegian, before then shooting himself in the face, following an argument over a game of darts at a restaurant and bar in Cha Am on Thursday evening.

Upon arrival at the scene, police found the men lying in a pool of blood outside the Lek Switzerland Restaurant located on Khlong Thian Road.

The 55 year old victim was found with gunshot wounds to the stomach and the back of the head, whilst the 59 year old was found with a gunshot wound to his right cheek.

A 9mm pistol was also found at the scene.

Both men were rushed to Cha Am hospital, which is also located on Khlong Thian Road, where the 55 year old was later pronounced dead.

According to Pol Lt Col Yutthana Rattanaphan investigating the incident, the two Norwegians were part of a group of four foreigners who had eaten at the restaurant earlier on Thursday.

The two men later began playing darts before an argument followed, where it is believed the 59 year old pulled out the 9mm pistol and shot his friend twice before then turning the gun on himself.

Cha Am is a popular weekend getaway for Thai residents of Bangkok and is also home to a small but ever increasing number of foreign nationals, predominantly made up of German and Scandinavian expats.

Cha Am is located in the province of Phetchaburi and is approximately 25km from Hua Hin.

Excellent point. So the Norwegian killer, realized he had made an incredible

mistake by shooting his friend, then turns the gun on himself in order to

commit instant justice. A Thai guy would have just done a runner.......

Good point, seems a bit odd for middle aged Norwegians to be packing heat.

Maybe with so many Thais blasting people right and left, ( one of the highest

gun homicide rates in the world) , maybe farangs are starting to pack now

to defend themselves. But sure looks like it went wrong here.

The two people involved were business partners who had a disagreement about money/business dealings apparently.

Both are well known in Cha Am.

I know of a foreigner that brought his guns over here in a container with the rest of his furniture. Stupid man he will get caught one day.

Guys a bully. You've got the time it takes for the board to revolve before you give us your verdict. Keep out of the black and in the red, nothing in this game when both of you are dead. Come and have a look at what you could have won.

A lot of people don't reaise the dangers of darts, I was playing in a pub in Liverpool and it was my mates turn to throw,just then one of the sisters of mercy came in collecting for the local convent and stood behind my friend, his first dart hit a treble twenty, second dart done the same,the third hit the wire and went up in the air and embedded itself right in the sisters head, as she collapsed on the floor sombody shouted out, one nun dead and eighty...

I know it can sometimes be hard to accept that your friend is a better dart player than you but this is taking it to a new level think it better he take up dominoes.

Let me guess. They were both drunk. Don't you just love what alcohol does to people. Imagine murdering your "friend" because you're drunk.

I'm ever amazed at the number of men who somehow think it's manly and cool to get drunk on a regular basis. What a bunch of losers.

Hmmmm...is there a lesson be learned here.....as in ..maybe next time you are in a bar or restaurant and some Norwegian guys arrive then it is high time to clear out...fast??
