High,

It’s time to renew the yearly marriage visa soon. For the last 5 years, I have had a marriage visa supporting a work permit, but my business is no more and for health reasons, my wife is now supporting us.

So as she is the bread winner, does that affect what documents I need to show? For example, what to do about the 400,000 Thb in my bank account now that Im not supporting us? Will I need to take documentary evidence from my doctor about my health story and therefore my inability to financially support us (wife & 1 child).

A list of required documentation or any advise from those in the know would be much appreciated. If anyone has had a positive experience with a firm here that holds your hand through the visa process and doesn't take you to the cleaners at the same time, would be equally appreciative of the heads-up.

Thanks in advance boys n girls,

W. :o

I should consult with Sunbelt Asia. If you've no income at all, then it's un-likely immigration will allow you to extend your stay - 400,000 or no 400,000 in the bank. Having a doctors certificate showing that you're unable to support your wife and child would, IMHO, make matters worse.

thanks for the feedack...

does the 400,000 have to be in my account? I'm sure for the last few years it has been in my wife's and there has never been any questions asked as to how it got there? I definitely have never been asked how i earn the money? surely if its in an account, then thats good enough?

also, do I have to show them 400,000 in 1 account, or can we show that amount spread over different accounts here?

cheers,

w.
