Thai Billionaire Seeks Help for Alleged Extortion

Featured Replies

Samrit Bunditkitsada, a billionaire businessman, states that he is being extorted and intimidated. Samrit lodged a complaint that states he is being extorted for 177 million baht. The assailant has threatened to kill Samrit and even blow up his office if he refuses to pay..

Samrit’s trouble started last August when a former board member of the Office of Welfare Promotion Commission complained of wrongdoing. The complaint was in regards to a $2.1 billion baht project that has been directed to Billion Innovated Group, which is owned by Samrit.

In his statement, Samrit alleges that the former board member contacted him many times until the two finally met to discuss the issue. During the meeting, the man was accompanied by four others wielding guns. Samrit was forced to strip naked and was given three demands which must be met.

First, the former office member wanted him to overthrow the current Office’s board. Second, the man demanded $177 million baht to drop his complaint against Samrit. Third, the man wanted 30 percent of all money given to Samrit from the Office as a kickback.

Mr. Samrit has spoken with the authorities, who have promised to look into the matter and take appropriate action.

Sound like an amateurish, emotion driven action but not less dangerous. But he can afford hiring some Western professionals to solve this.

My heart bleeds, make a Police complaint because someone tried to extort 30% of the the money that had been extorted in the form of kickbacks.

It just keeps coming all this crap, it's like living in a soap opera. Take it up with the morals committee, they are always making themselves heard this time of the year.

Poor poor rich person, can't buy his way out of this one? Why not.... He's A Billionaire!
