Pattaya Beach Promenade crumbles following heavy rainfall

hole-1.jpg?6c3afb

PATTAYA: -- On Wednesday Night, a large hole appeared on the Beach Promenade, opposite Central Festival Pattaya Beach and Pattaya Police Station. It is thought to have been caused by the heavy rainfall which occurred earlier on Wednesday around Pattaya City.

The poorly constructed beach promenade stood no chance against the heavy rainstorm which caused flash flooding earlier on Wednesday along Pattaya Beach Road. A hole measuring 3 meters deep and 2 meters wide appeared and at time of publication of this story, the hole has not been dealt with by City Technicians.

They must be saving money at city hall by not actually hiring real engineers.

Hummm...I wonder where that money is going?

thai style, they will put some taped around and it's fixed

"the hole has not been dealt with by City Technicians."

expect the hole to be fined 100 baht and told not to come back

The council needs to send someone round to look into it.

Seems to be a yearly occurrence.

The media said that - the administration would never admit to that whistling.gif Although just about everyone else knew of the "poor" construction. Mai pen rai.

No way. They need to have 3 meetings first to decide to set up a sub committee to look into the matter. :D

Solid concrete not pavers you numb sculls. When will they learn.

+1...They will fix it, and fix it, and fix it...

Where are the ropes or guard rails to make sure people don't fall into the hole ? This is a public sidewalk.... TIT

Dont worry Someone will place a highly effective ( and internationally recognised ) freshly cut twig marking the dangerous hole.

Was sitting at a bar on Pattaya beach road when a flash flood occurred...in a matter of moments a manhole cover in the middle of the road was washed away exposing a large and dangerous hole...the volume of water soon completely covered the street and the hole...vehicles where bouncing in and out of that hole...being thrown around...out of control...until a barricade was setup...

A side note...the river of water flowing down Pattaya road...appeared to be cleaning up all the trash from the sois...it was a river of sludge...a mixture of mud, water, and trash...hated having to walk in it after leaving the bar...

there are holes like this at the walking street end, been there 6 months and no barriers at all, in fact not even lighting at the moment, Ive seen a few tourists fall in much to the girls merryment

There are also holes like this in Blackburn, Lancashire. 4,000 of the blighters!!

Looks like a sinkhole.

Seems to be a yearly occurrence.

Unusual this early in the year..... watch this space.

and do not forget all those who complain about how it is in thailand, they could not complained either, they would be most likely to complained in another country.
