Unclear how these visas actually work.

Will be looking to apply for tourist visa in Sydney, Australia to go to Thailand.

A tourist visa gives me 60 days plus a possible 30 day extension.

With a double entry tourist visa do I get an additional 60 days with a possible 30 day extension if I leave the country after 90 days? (total 180 days).

Or do I have to use the second exit and re-entry during the first visa and extension giving me only a total of 90 days?

Appreciate help from those who know.

Cheers

When entering Thailand with a double entry TV you will be given permission to stay for 60 days. This 60 day stay can be extended by 30 days at a local immigration office at a cost of 1900 Bht. Toward the end of this 90 period you must leave Thailand and enter another country.

Returning to Thailand enables the second entry the visa allows to be used.

Make sure to be aware of the visas expiry (use by) date.
