I just renewed my PA insurance with Muang Thai, via Kasikorn. It is the same as for last year, 8,600 baht which pays out 5M to my wife if I'm killed in a car, bus or a "normal" accident or 2.5M if killed by motor bike or am murdered.

I initially went for this last year as the payout was the best I found in relation to the premium.

Another main reason why I went for it was that hospital cover for me in an accident is 100k plus a daily allowance of 2k, better than all others I checked.

I received all the original policy docs in the post yesterday which for the first time included all the terms of the small print, in English.

I was horrified with disbelief that an accident by motor bike is EXCLUDED.

As most of my travel is by motor bike, apart from a good payout to my wife, to have hospital cover for me in an accident by motor bike, is the other main reason why I took out this insurance.

No doubt it is legal for them to do this but clearly very wrong morally etc, unless this significant exclusion is highlighted in the main marketing literature.

My guess is that as good as all farangs who have the same policy as me, think they have hospital cover if in a motor bike accident.

Any views please, as I doubt there is any Regulatory body that can change this?

Thanks.

That is a real shocker. Thanks for pointing this out as it is something I need to look at. Is there not a cooling off period where you can cancel within a certain period and/or lose part of the payment but not all?

My Bangkok Bank Seniors Personal Accident cover clearly states an exclusion for motor bike accidents. The standard BB PA cover for younger people includes cover for motor bike accidents.
