Apply for Non-immigrant B visa in Hong Kong

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'll be starting work in Thailand from 1st of July 2015 and need to apply for a non-immigrant B visa.

My plan is to go to Bangkok to pick-up the documents in mid-June (because until then I'm constantly travelling for my current work and cannot find the time to apply at any other embassy) and then fly to Hong Kong for roughly a week and apply for the visa there.

My question is if there is any reason I may be rejected a non-immigrant B visa at the Thai-embassy in Hong Kong? I've checked their website and there is no mention whatsoever regarding what is needed/required to apply for this specific visa, unlike most other embassy sites.....

I'm a EU citizen, in case that would matter.

Reason I'd prefer to apply in HK is because of having friends there, but if anyone thinks another embassy in SEA is for some reason "easier" then I would consider that option.

Thanks for any advice on this.

Call them before you go and make sure everything is 100%(!) in order. I went to HK for nothing once because they didn't do single entry O visa with birth certificate of my daughter. I flew to Vientiane and got it without problems.

I've never tried HK, but you shouldn't have issues with Ho Chi Minh, or with Phnom Penh.

Vientiane or Savannakhet Laos is the best nearby location if you have a work permit approval letter (unless teaching and then is not needed). They only ask for what is on their website.

Penang Malaysia is number 2,
