Taxi receipts indicating fare paid and route?

Featured Replies

Hi

When taking a taxi can I get a receipt which indicates the fare paid and possibly the route (for example "hotel to airport, 1000 baht")?

Any suggestions on specific taxi services which would provide a receipt when using a taxi in bangkok and in jomtien?

Cheers

Why do you want one? Are you going to claim the fare back for tax or expenses?

If not, why do you want one?

Forget it in Pattaya. No metered taxis here anyway. I've never seen one in Bangkok either, though did hear of a new service that will be offering them. Only 40 cars to start with.

If it's for expenses, receipts are normally not required for things under a certain amount.

No, but you can get one when you book a hotel car or airport limo.

Uber emails you a receipt with charges and route taken. You can also log in at their website for an archive of all your trips together with the receipts that include route taken.

I did some times get a receipt from the expensive pattaya taxis. Some of them had paper to write on. But I had to write from and to myself as they could not write english.

I caught a cab in BKK a few days ago & it had a printer in the meter box.
