A quick search on InvadeIT comes up with these offerings, all from Lenovo http://www.invadeit.co.th/category/notebooks-laptops/15-inch-monitor/4-gb-ram/intel-core-i7/windows-8-1/dvd-supermulti/

Meet your spec. exactly.

If you don't mind going for the slightly lower performing i5 you get a few more offerings at lower price http://www.invadeit.co.th/category/notebooks-laptops/15-inch-monitor/4-gb-ram/dvd-supermulti/windows-8-1/intel-core-i5/ but you did say you wanted maximum grunt smile.png

What tasks do you have in mind for the beast? Web, word processing and photo editing will work just fine on an i5.

Thanks Crossy. Had already save the middle one as a favourite. With Lazada it's B25,890 but of course free delivery. Possibly works out the same if using InvadeIT with say EMS.

You should be happy with the Lenovo model you choose...I have a very similarly spec'ed Lenovo Z510 I bought around 18 months ago....fast as heck...no problems (knock on wood). I bought it here in Bangkok at BananaIT for Bt23K. With me, being me I increased the RAM from 4GB to 8GB and replaced the 1TB HDD with a a 500GB SSD a few months after buying it....now its double fast as heck.

wow that looks pretty nice. nice they left a free slot for an additional 4GB. SSD is a good upgrade but 500GB costs about 10,000 baht...

what sort of battery life does it get? not sure what 4 cell 41Wh mean but sounds like not a whole lot.

Yeap, larger SSDs like 512GB or above are indeed pricey in Thailand...or should I say way overpriced. I got my Samsung 840EVO 512GB for approx Bt7,000 approx a year ago from TigerDirect in the U.S....it's probably cheaper now. But I was fortunate to be able to avoid any customs charges by having it shipped free to a friend's house in the U.S. who happen to come through Thailand a few weeks later and hand delivered it to me.

Just curious but any reason why of the 3 USB ports only one is USB3 and the others USB2 - IE why not all USB3?

While the USB3 specification is backward compatible to USB2 specification, some USB2 items and that USB 3 backward compatibility still have issues. So to ensure a computer has maximum compatibility with all the newer and older USB devices it common for computers to still come with USB3 and USB2 ports. The Lenovo Z510 laptop I bought about 18 months ago comes with two USB3 ports on its left side and one USB2 port on its right side.

For around 30,000 Dell and a few others have a 8gig ram 1 T hard drive I7, I got this set up back in 2011 and still a strong stayer, what I just quoted you is pretty much mid level now what your asking for is for a low level machine, if browsing emailing and social networking maybe an iPad would suite you better think about it.
