Hello everyone, I have been reading on the forum thread regarding ED visa and I think I'm getting it but I would like to reconfirm on three things:

1.My ED visa expires on 20th July this year. My current visa extension expires on 30th May. I have already asked my school to write a cancellation letter for my visa for 30th May. I plan to fly out of Thailand by 28th May to either the Philippines or Malaysia. I am guessing that means my ED visa is effectively cancelled with me flying out of the country and showing the cancellation letter (last day of study being 30th May) to the immigration at the airport when I leave the country on the 28th?

2. I plan to stay for maybe 2-3 weeks in the Philippines or Malaysia. After that, I would like to fly back in to Thailand. Will I be able to get the usual 30 days visa exempt on arrival (I'm from a G7 country)? It will not be a problem for me to get an outward air ticket nor have the 20K baht in hand on arrival, if needed.

3. Before my 30 days visa exempt is up, I will go to Vientiane to apply for a double entry tourist visa. Will there be any foreseeable problems awaiting, and do I need any further documents? This will be my first time getting a tourist visa.

Thank you in advance for your replies and advices.

You will not need the letter form the school to leave from an airport or for that matter at any border crossing other than Nong Kai.

No problem to get the 30 day visa exempt entry after you trip out. You can get a 30 day extension of it at immigration if you want to.

Same for getting the 2 entry tourist visa.
