Int'l management guru believes Thailand has enough potential to double its per capita income to US$5,000

Independent thinker Dr. Kenichi Omae believes Thailand has enough potential to double its per capita income to US$5,000 or about 200,000 baht.

Dr. Omae said that requires good economic strategies, increase of investment potential, improvement of the quality of education and promotion of the CEO-style of management.

The leading thinker said the economy can expand further if Thailand uses Suvarnabhumi airport to attract international airlines to open their head offices in Bangkok. Promotion of special relations with different countries also may help more in increasing trade value than entering free trade agreements, Dr. Omae said.

Described as "Mr. Strategy" worldwide, Dr. Kenichi Ohmae is regularly sought out as a public speaker and management consultant. Ohmae, according to the Financial Times of London, is "Japan's only management guru." In 1994, The Economist selected him one of five management gurus in the world.

As an author he has published over 100 books, many of which are devoted to business and socio-political analyses.
