Bangkok Phuket Hospital

I write this waiting to see the doctor.

As usual service A+ , however first time ive seen/heard the violinist playing.

Quite relaxing and enjoyable , couldn't help but wonder what it would be like back in Blighty with the good old NHS .

Thailand a third world country ?

Violinist playing in the hospital waiting room , doesn't fit the description somehow .

Yes I guess its covered by the medical bills , but none the less...

When your waiting for important results certainly helps relax the mind a little.

Thumbs up BPH

Edit , guess TV has helped too as ive been posting whilst waiting ,

TY TV :-)

Although I agree ,

I do sometimes ask myself , ive spent thousands on holidays wherever they have been in the world , we have as many cars as people in the house.

Pay over the top on fancy nights out , the list goes on and on.

But i find myself also questioning the bills at BHP ,

But therin lies my faul I reckon.

Is my health not the only one thing i should just pay , wether OTT or not ( considering all the other things im sure i get overcharged for ) ?

It's the way the Bangkok Phuket nickel and dime everything. Extras for medical supplies for this and that, there is even a charge for getting my medical records out of the 'store'. At the Phuket international is just the doctor's fee, no extras other than blood test costs. Specialist at PI = 400 baht, specialist at BP = 1,200 baht. For sure now that BP bought PI then costs will be 'aligned'.

Yes, the seem to do a number of things, that cost them money, and help promote the arts.
My son went to a puppet learning seminar that lasted many weeks (each Saturday was the class).
Free food and water was provided as well as the learning sessions were free. (very good Thai teacher who was paid by the hospital)

Apparently they have a fund for these kind of affairs.

And yes, I too welcome the violinist. (and all the pretty girls who work there)

You made the same claim earlier in the thread about the PI takeover by BPH.. I still don't see why, it is common to have multiple brands in the same market with different pricing, and more importantly, there are no signs of this so far.

I prefered the lady playing the xylophon. The violist is a little bit disheveled.

Why didn't you get discount?

.....with several cards(BangkokBank, CC, ExpatPrivilgeCard, membership card,....) gets you discounts between 10-50%.

Have the xpat priv card.

That only covers medications though.

Not the ultrasound cost or doctors fee unfortunately..

Not aware of any others that offer discounts on what I paid for ??

Jees , after all these bloody years never knew !!

Thanks Schlog :-)

Oh and all good with Bupa mate thanks for all the info.

Me mrs mango and the sprog are going for the 5m plan each , came to a total of a tad under 100k. Happy with that with the cover it gives.

A little surprised they dont offer family cover though ???

Told the quack today that id submitted my medical records to Bupa and if theres anything that should get them to decline and he said for sure not all should be ok.

Oh and PS very happy to say the results were all good(ish) feom the visit.

Must of been the chillin effect of the violin.

Todays a happy day :-)

Worry is a thing i dont take kindly too :-(

Yaaaahayyy , havin a cold beer and some food with the extended family , kids and all.

Life is precious , realised that again today !!!

Be healthy everyone :-)

I visit frequently and have a platinum membership card. Doctors fees always 800 or 1000 baht. discounts on many extras, worth it if you are a regular.

Can't stand the chamber music myself, but they do a surprisingly good coffee in the café (not the food hall), while you're waiting for results. Always a good people watching spot.

The morning parade of tourists with bandaged legs and elbows from bike accidents is of interest.

Is that new hospital south of central near the shell station/Honda {debuk or something} operating yet? went there a month ago and they had front desk staff but no doctors on duty.
