This happened to about 3-4 days ago. I was taking the elevator down to the lobby when I saw a new face in my apartment. We said hi, and I swear he looked 100% Asian, if I had to take an educated guess, I'd say mainland China. But nope... when I asked him, he said he was Australian.

We can no longer tell a person's nationality just by looking at them.

Years ago I took my nan to the doctor who was a young bloke of Chinese ancestry and when we left she said " Ooh he speaks lovely English"

Didn't have the heart to tell her I knew him and he was born and raised in Milton Keynes.

Although I must admit to having an irrational deep seated certainty in my youth that the one Chinese stock lad in school was some sort of martial arts master. Maybe it wasn't just me because the local thugs left him alone and he looked like an oriental Harry Potter with an IQ of about a million
