A few years back, I had a really bad dream while I was staying in a hotel in Korat. No need to go into the details, let's just say that the ex-wife featured quite heavily in it.

Checking out the next day, On mentioned it to the staff at reception. They quite openly stated that they thought the room had a ghost, as quite a few people have had bad dreams of the same nature in that room.

Needed to stay in Korat again about a year later..... On had remembered the room number and requested any room but that one :o

Yes, Thais won't stay in a place someone had died in easily. Friend of mine has a guest house in a "slightly dodgy" area in BKK, and more than 1 farang enjoyed too much illegal substances. Every time at least 9 monks come to "clean" the mess up (not literally).

In Isaan, it goes a bit further. The session I described briefly in another post a few days ago was for exactly the same reasons Mac, my wif's mum had a bad dream the night before, so it was voodoo time again :-)

I can also still remember the first time I met the family over here, and when my wife's mother came over to see (and bless) our 1 week old baby (somewhat reminded me of that movie with Mickey Rourke and Robert deNiro somewhere in New Orleans, can't remember the name - chicken legs and blood and so on)
