OK, this is not normally the area I would post, but it was on the front page, so here goes.

There already are a few places like this in BKK.

For a bizarre reason I ended up getting taken to one with a group of ladies. It was located in the Dome complex with that cabaret show downstairs; no longer there.

I do know of at least 2 others that are operating.

Strangely (or not so strangely) the main customers are actually women working in the adult 'companionship' industry it seemed to me. No non Thais there. Some older women.

The men were all 20 something rock singer look alike guys, and the women can do the exact thing as a place like Orbit/Piano. Buy drinks, which pay for time, the men will dance (ball room dance no less) with them, chat pour drinks, that sort of thing.

I assume extra curricular is the same as a place like Piano; negotiated directly.

For wealthy Thais, there is one well known Hi So Khun Ying that used to arrange sex parties, although I never have actually been to one (one of my female relatives has). That is more a swap sort of a thing. The same relative has also been to some female arranged gigilo type affair where ther were a selection of men for women to choose from and she chose one, and was, er, entertained.

I also know of an agent that supplies men to women for their escort services; prices start at aruond 10,000b for the nice looking guys AFAIK of which the guy gets 50%. Prices go all the way up to 100,000b for some. Incidentally, the same style of operation exists for men with women.

So...options are out there. But they are much more like the Thai men's style of entertainment; behind curtains and closed doors rather than the Silom area in your face tourist style.

this is an interesting topic. when i lived in bkk, MANY of my thai female friends told me that i should think about opening a 'boy bar' where the staff would be only male, good looking, straight, and HOT. i could not believe what they were telling me, and SO many of them said that they would go to such an establishment.

not so sure if it is for the extra curricular services offered, or just for the perve, but, according to my Thai girlfriends, its a goer.

I am also fairly sure this business, if you could get it to a slightly less sex orientated place and more 'chat and hang out' type place - the female version of Orbit/Resort rather than Poseidon - that it would work.

Whether it would be any easier to keep the place going than the men's establishments (some of which go in and out of business with great regularity) is hard to say. Ultimately, i suspect the risk of being seen at these places would keep many of the people with the $$ to spend away unless it was of the 'nightclub with some paid eye candy and low level groping' type which is pretty close to Piano/Orbit type places for men. Problem is keeping your type of customer there (middle class woman) without allowing the women with significant income but from different class (low class 'office in ratchada' workers) out; you cannot have the two there together in equal numbers for the exact same reason that you cannot easily have half westerner and half Thai men in the same place of this type of venue - they don't particularly want to be around eachother.

There is one of these exact places in Sukhumvit somewhere; I will get you details at some point and post in this thread....

How about something like China's Rising Sun Anger Release Bar? It sounds sort of like Love Sick but you can slap the waiters around and it's not limited to love related anger e.g. "clients can ask the men to dress as the character they wish to attack."
