Multiple entry farang marriage visa REENTRY

Featured Replies

I need a multiple entry visa into Thailand

I am married to my thai wife, I have lived in Thailand through various ways over the years ok. I understand about getting a non O and then extending after 60 days to a 1 year visa (follow wife eat)

My question is this, if i leave Thailand during the year visa extension time frame, can I come back using my non o ( follow wife). Do I have to show all the paperwork (AND BANK AMOUNT) every time I go through customs?

It's not that I need a full 90 days, sometimes I'm only in Thailand for 2 weeks the next it's 2 months, constantly changing as I work in cambodia, Laos, vietnam etc. one thing I am is constantly across land borders. I am UK passport so I know 30 day entry's on a tourist could be acceptable but it's going to flag up RED on the thai immigration system soon.

Also how and where is it poss to get a marriage visa? I hear Laos is good? I am under 50!

No troll comments please and stay on topic,

Many thanks ;)

If you apply for a 1 year extension of stay at immigration you can get a (multiple) reentry permit, allowing you to come and go as you please during the validity of the permission to stay.

In Laos (Savankhet) you can get a multiple non-O visa, good for unlimited entries for up to 90 days during the validity of the visa. Leave and re-enter just before the visa itself expires and get a new 90 days.

The multiple non-O might be a good option, but also depends on your nationality. (Some nationalities have to apply in their home country).

A multiple entry visa allows multiple entries which extend to 90 days.

If you want an extension of Stay apply toward the end of any 90 day entry permitted by the visa

Leaving during the time allowed by the "extension of stay" requires a re-entry permit and nothing more .

As stated above, the best option for you is to get a one year multiple entry visa which will give you 90 days at a time and then you must leave or do a border run. Since you are not here longer than 90 days it seems like the best option. As stated Savahnaket gives the multiple entry without needing proof of 400k in the bank.

If you want to stay on the same visa, with extensions every year, then just get a re-entry permit before you leave.

Ok so do I have to get / ask for the (multiple) visa at the 1st part of applying (ie in savahnaket) or can I make / turn my visa into a multiple entry one at the point where I extend the visa inside Thailand at an immigration office?

From the info in your topic it seems that the extension of stay is not a good option for you. You would need to be here during the last 30 days of a 90 day non-o visa entry and then after you apply your will have a 30 day under consideration period while your application is approved.

You should apply for a multiple entry non-o visa that allows unlimited 90 day entries for a year. The fee for the visa is 5000 baht. In Savannakhet you apply by 11 am of one day and pick it up at 2 pm the next afternoon.

You would not need to show anything on entry other than your passport and arrival card.

Many thanks. It seems savahnaket is the place to go
