Hillside 2-Too close to Tawan Daeng?

Featured Replies

Hi people

We're heading back to Chiang Mai for a 12 night stay in July (we want to stay around the Nimman area). A couple of the accommodation options are in the Hillside 2 condo. Location is good but we remember that its very close to the late night beer and music place (Tawan Daeng?). Can anyone advise if the noise has been a problem for residents?

I've rented condos on the west (mountain) side of Panna in years past (Panna is maybe 60 yards north of Hillside 2) and I never found Tawan Daeng to be a significant noise problem as it's a fairly well-built place. The problem in that neighborhood for years was the Chalerm Groong bar on Soi 6, Nimman, which was essentially a tin shed with horribly loud music (thankfully, it is no more - it's where they built the showroom for the new Nimmana condos). There also can be an occasional noise issue with the rare music event held in Prasiert Land (the open space in front of Tawan Daeng) but that doesn't happen very often.

Thanks. We've ended up a bit further north off Nimman Road so should be OK.

Hillside 2 is not too close to the Clubs, especially Tawandaeng I doubt you could hear it. Of more concern would be the street noise from Nimman, blaring horns and all that rot.

your 100% correct I had property in H2 and the street noise was apocryphal
