2015 Honda CBR 150R - Available in Thailand?

Recommended Posts

Indonesia has the latest redesigned CBR 150R. It has dual headlights, a different style exhaust, and some cosmetic changes. All the CBRs I see at the Honda dealerships in the town I live in are the older style, with the single headlight and the 2014 style exhaust. Does anybody know if the 2015-style CBR 150's are available in Thailand?

I actually thought I noticed some CBR150 bikes with dual headlights at a Honda dealer the other day when I was driving around. I am trying to remember where I saw it. Perhaps it was on Ladkrabang Road. I will try and find out from the Honda dealer at the top of my Soi the next time I go by there. Perhaps they are coming to Thailand too. I am not sure the AP Honda web site is fully up to date. It is also mentioned here on a Thai site:

Lots of pictures of the bike here too. Looks like it is also available in Vietnam for sure:

Just under 17HP. Like a scooter.

I had the last of the old (carbed) model 150, then sold it and bought the new F/I model when it came up. Big improvement, but still not enough for me. Sold it and bought the 250. I loved that one, till I had a stroke and had to sell it. Now I'm looking at either the CB300f or CB500f, hopefully sometime around December. From everything I've read, it's lighter, but faster than the 250 was. My wife likes the new 150's and wants me to go that way. I just smile and tell her it ain't gonna happen.

I plan on it, papa al, I plan on it. Took me 6 months before I could walk again. I'm getting there, but damn, it takes time. But already told the wife, the day I buy a new bike, I'm taking my full kit and a backpack with me, and when I pull out of the dealership, don't look for me for at least a week, but I'll call ever night to let you know I'm not road kill somewhere.

Sure it wasn't a 300 you saw? I see a lot of 150's in my area and I've yet to see one with dual headlights.

Lightweight bikes for lightweight people. smile.png

I'm 92 kilo and my bike is a 'lightly used' 2007 CBR150r (carb) and it is zippier than 99% of the scooters in Bangkok leaving the traffic light. Lightweight and narrow are great attributes when you are muscling your bike between cars, trucks, and buses in stalled Bangkok traffic. Are the newer CBR150r that underpowered compared to my bike? I know they are a lot wider.

Haven't ridden one personally but most people seem to like the carbed version more. The FI one is a lot bigger, so power/weight might be the issue.

I'd buy a used CBR250 for the same price or cheaper.

It depends on what you use the bike for. I bought a 2011 CBR250r in Dallas (new) and it's good for the expressways and broad avenue in Dallas. I rarely drive more than 40 minutes to anywhere. I wouldn't want to take it on a long trip or muscle it through Bangkok traffic, though. In Bangkok, my 2007 CBR150r is more narrow than a Fino, and most other scooters/motorbikes, so fits between cars and buses with room to spare. I never go outside Bangkok with the 150, though. For long trips on a MC, I, in my old age, need at least 500 cc. smile.png
