Ict Ministry Smart Cards Auction

ICT Ministry questions Comptroller - General's Dept whether lower price offers in producing smart cards can win the auction or not

Permanent-Secretary to the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Ministry Kraisorn Pornsutee (ไกรสร พรสุธี) has requested Comptroller - General's Department to consider whether the private sector who proposed the second lowest price will be rewarded the smart card producers or not, following the conflicts between auction committee.

Mr. Kraisorn said smart card auction committee has summarized the result of auction for 13 million smart cards to ICT ministry.

He added that there are disagreements among the committee members where 3 members view that second company who proposed higher price than the first company should be chosen, whereas the other two members insisted that the first company who proposed the price of 37.45 baht should win the auction.

Mr. Kraisorn said that such disagreements may lead to problems for E-Auction and has forwarded the matter to Comptroller - General's Department to consider. The department has been instructed to send feedback to ICT ministry as soon as possible.

Permanent-Secretary to ICT spoke about the meeting of the ministry, adding that Deputy Prime Minister and Interim ICT minister Suchai Charoenratnakul(สุชัย เจริญรัตนกุล) will chair the meeting where as the issue of smart card auction will be reported to the minister as well.
