Translation for Thai Ministry of Foreign affairs - any office good ?

Are there any requirements about office that will handle translation of Marriage Certificate which I will give to Tha Mofa ? I ask because I would like to do it in Phuket. Is there any list, does someone know case when translation was rejected, because office didn't have licence or for any other reason ?

Any translation service can be used for a translation. The worst than can happen is that the translation is rejected for not being correct.

Most translation service can submit the translation for certification to the MFA for you.

I don't get it....if you are using an outside office to do the translation then why not use them for getting the stamps done as well? They don't charge a fortune and it saves you traveling across Bangkok and then all the hassles in the MFA office. I would bet money that the document you had translated would have been accepted if it was submitted by the professionals and then stamped and posted back to you. No stress at all and for a nominal charge.

The translators have to be on the approved MFA list.

I didn't know that, used an unlisted translator, and had the translation rejected by the MFA with a note saying, use a translator on our approved list.

Submitted the same translation, via a translator on the approved list, accepted with no problems.

Easiest way is to pay a translator for the translation + MFA stamp, cash on delivery.

Hi. I searched google for help with a couple of questions, and ended up here.

if someone would help me with some answers I would be very grateful.

 

My fiancee from Thailand is applying for a family reunion visa to Norway, and she needs to get 7 documents translated and stamped.

 

She have only two days in Bangkok, 21-22 nov. Number 22 she have the appointment at the Norwegian Embassy, so question number 1: Is it possible for her to get these papers translated and stamped in only one day?

 

Number 2: if yes, is there any translators near MFA that not charges the world per paper?

 

Number 3: I have looked in MFA homepage in internet for book time for stamps, but can not find. How to book?

When you say translated and stamped, exactly what do you mean?

 

Do you require a translation and a stamp from the translation office?

 

Or do you require a translation, a stamp from the translation office plus legalisation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs?

 

If you need option 1 (No MFA legalisation) there is a very easy option:

She can send the company pictures of the documents using Line App and can pay in advance using bank transfer. The cost is very reasonable.

 

The translations will be done in advance and she will be able to collect them when she arrives in Bangkok. Alternatively they will EMS the documents to her if she prefers.

 

If you need option 2 (With MFA legalisation) your partner will have to EMS the documents (or a copy if that is acceptable) to the company so they came present it with the translation of the MFA.

 

Either way, the trick is to get the work done before she arrives.
