In fact, an entire fleet of drones is gearing up for commercial deployment in the Kingdom as the government inches closer to creating a regulatory framework. “There’s a very large market potential to address the needs of local farmers,” said Aaron Greenwald, managing director of SM Waypoint Co Ltd, a Phnom Penh-based drone contracting company. “However, we still have to do a good job of educating prospective clients on the value of this technology.” Precision Agricultural Solutions The two main applications for drones in agriculture are crop imaging and the precision application of pesticides.
