Tourist Visas

Featured Replies

I have just received my third Tourist double entry visa from Laos.

Now two doubles In a row from savannakhet-laos

previous to that double at vientiane-laos

And came Into Thailand on a triple entry from Uk.

So that will be two years total on tourist Visas.

Hope that puts some peoples minds to rest.

Picked up on 17/06/2015

No additional paperwork asked for.

Hi, Im new here just signed up. I want ask a question when you applied for the visa in your country did you have a return flight confirmation or just a one way flight to show the thai embassy? I would like to know when applying for a 60 day tourist double entry visa does it matter how many days you put on the visa application from arrival to return date?

I mean on the visa application it want know duration of proposed stay, so how many days can you put on there with out getting your application denied or does it not matter? the visa is a good for 60 day but if you have a double entry and you can also get extensions so really you could stay in Thailand nearly 6 months, so just wondering if the thai embassy in your home country will grant you the visa if you have 170 days from arrival to return listed on the duration of proposed stay on the visa application? Thanks, Hongolex

The issue concerning return tickets has nothing to do with applying for a tourist visa. The embassy or consulate does not check on your tickets. Since you don't mention what country you are from, in some places the embassy might be more or less willing to issue you a tourist visa if they have any concern about your financial resources. Not all embassies or consulates operate using the same criteria.

The problem sometimes comes up with the airlines. If you do not have a visa and only have a one-way ticket, many airlines would refuse to let you board since they could be held accountable if you are refused entry to Thailand. If you have a tourist visa, that should not be a problem ... but note that quite often round-trip tickets are far cheaper than buying a one-way into Thailand and then a one-way ticket out.

To be safe, check with your airline if they will let you board with a one-way ticket and a visa. I doubt there will be an issue, but it could depend on the airline or the point of departure.

Regarding the number of days on the tourist visa application ... it doesn't matter. No one bothers to look at that. Write "60 days" and forget about it. No one will care and it will have nothing to do with how long you can stay.

Incorrect, for instance if you were to apply for a triple entry tourist visa in Bali, they want to see an outward ticket for each entry.

No, you quite clearly said "The embassy or consulate does not check on your tickets. ", which could be totally incorrect, (Bali for instance). If you are going to say that embassies and consulates operate using different criteria, which is correct, you can not make a blanket statement saying they don't check tickets. :-)

Only Loas do not want any other paperwork for Tourist Visas. or return flights.

They may ask after many times of repeat runs ask to see some evidence that your income is not from working In Thailand.

ok thanks for answering, I am planning to get a round trip ticket anyway, but I was worried that the embassy might deny my visa application if I had too many days listed on duration of proposed stay, so you are saying that 150days wont matter to the embassy, because I thought the amount of days that you put on the application should be the same as your round trip Itinerary says because that's how long I want to stay.
